Emerald Green Hot Garlic Dip Directions
About 125 kilojoules/30 calories per tablespoon About 63 kilojoules/15 calories per pita wedge 1 x 315g (10oz) package frozen spinach 12 cloves garlic Â¼ cup milk 250g (Â½lb) package cream cheese, softened Salt Tabasco sauce 60g (2oz) grated Cheddar cheese 2 pita loaves, halved horizontally, cut into 8 wedges each, toasted
1. Cook spinach according to directions. Drain, pressing down hard to express all moisture.
2. With machine running, drop garlic through feed tube of processor. Blend until finely chopped. Add spinach and milk. Combine well. Add cream cheese. Puree until smooth.
3. Scrape mixture into a saucepan. Stir over medium heat until heated through. Season to taste with salt and Tabasco. Spoon into a heated serving dish, sprinkle with cheese. Serve with toasted pita wedges for dipping.
