Roast Beef Eye Fillet with Soy Sauce Directions
1507 kilojoules/360 calories per serving 2 tblspn oil 1 tblspn butter 3 tblspn soy sauce 2 tblspn honey 3 tblspn red wine vinegar 1.5kg (3lb) beef eye fillet 3 tspn sesame seeds
1. Heat the oil and butter in a large frying pan. Add the soy sauce, honey and red wine vinegar. Add the fillet and cook over a high heat to sear until brown on all sides.
2. Transfer fillet to an ovenproof dish and bake in a moderate oven for 30-40 minutes or until just cooked. Reserve meat juices and marinade in frying pan.
3. Add the meat juices from the oven dish to the frying pan. Add Â¼ cup water and heat over moderate heat until mixture boils.
4. Reduce heat and simmer until mixture thickens, stir in sesame seeds and pour sauce over the sliced meat. Serve with fresh vegetables.
